I came across a post the other day that really made me think. I don’t remember who wrote it, but the message hit hard:
If God answered every single one of your prayers from the past week, what would happen?
Would your marriage be stronger than ever? Would your child be healed from what they’re battling? Would the hard thing in your life finally break loose? Or would your food be blessed and your team have won the football game?
That question lit a fire in me. Because the truth is, I don’t pray big as often as I should. So many of my prayers are as simple as, “Help me get through today,” or, “Help me through this meeting.”
But deep down, I know I want more. I know God has placed desires in my heart that He’s just waiting for me to bring to Him. I want to see miracles. I want to see breakthroughs in my life, in my community, in my family, and for the people I care about.
So I made a commitment that day to stop praying small.
To pray big….and then keep praying even bigger.
Ephesians 3:20 tells us that God is able to more than we can ever dare ask of Him or think. He is more capable than our greatest prayers, hopes, and dreams.
That verse doesn’t just sound good…it’s truth. We serve a God who is able to do more than we could ever imagine. And He invites us to ask boldly. Prayer isn’t just about words, it’s about believing God is who He says He is and that He’s working, even when we can’t see it.
So let me ask you:
What’s one thing you’ve stopped praying for because it felt too big or too far gone?
Pick it back up. Bring it to God again. And this time, ask boldly.
Try praying this:
God, I want to pray bigger. I want to come to You expecting miracles, not just maintenance. I believe You are able to do more than I could ever ask, and I trust You with the desires in my heart. Teach me to pray with faith and boldness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
